Rev. John Horton, ​Senior Pastor ​
The Reverend John Eric Horton, Senior Pastor, is originally from Gadsden, Alabama, and currently resides in O’Fallon, Illinois. He and his wife of 33 years, Minister Shaurice Horton, are the proud parents of two daughters and grandparents to four grandsons.
In 1987, Reverend Horton was awarded a football scholarship to the University of Alabama but chose instead to pursue his education at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Gadsden State Community College with an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Hampton University. Additionally, he holds a Master of Christian Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
A third-generation pastor, Reverend Horton was ordained by his father, the late Reverend Donnell Horton. With over 29 years of experience as a Senior Pastor, he has faithfully led congregations in both Alabama and Illinois, always guided by divine grace. Reverend Horton is also a proud member and current Chaplain of the Nu Chi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., in East St. Louis, Illinois.
