​Reverend John Eric Horton is a seasoned spiritual leader with over 29 years of experience as a Senior Pastor, faithfully guiding congregations across Alabama and Illinois. A third-generation minister, he was ordained by his father, the late Reverend Donnell Horton, and continues a proud family legacy of faith-driven service.

​A dedicated scholar, Reverend Horton holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies (Magna Cum Laude) from Hampton University and a Master of Christian Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His diverse educational background also includes an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from Gadsden State Community College, chosen after electing to pursue an HBCU path over a 1987 football scholarship to the University of Alabama.

​Beyond the pulpit, Reverend Horton is deeply committed to community empowerment, serving on the Board of Directors for Our Brothers' Keepers of Southern Illinois and as the Chaplain for the Nu Chi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., in East St. Louis. Originally from Gadsden, Alabama, he currently resides in O’Fallon, Illinois, with his wife of 34 years, Minister Shaurice Horton. Together, they are the proud parents of two daughters and the grandparents of five grandsons.
